I am so excited to announce that I have a new novella up in the Kindle store at Amazon. For years I’ve been asked about Cal and Liddy’s story. The were supporting characters in my historical New Mexico series, consisitng of A PROMISE MADE, A PLACE CALLED HOME and MAKING AMENDS.
Well, Cal and Liddy’s story was actually the beginning of this series. It was a novella, and my very first sale , included in a collection called HARVEST HOME.
But by the time the last book in the series came out, Harvest Home was hard to find and I had to wait until I got the rights back to do anything about Cal and Liddy’s story. And this past weekend I worked to get it ready to come out as an ebook. I am thrilled that it is now available in the Amazon Kindle store. If you think you’d like it, just click on the cover and it should take you to it.
For readers who never got to read Cal and Liddy’s story, I hope it will make you want to read the series again. And for new readers, I hope you want to read more about these characters who made their home in my home town of Roswell, New Mexico.
I hope you like it as much as I loved writing it!
More news next time, Janet
Now I wish I had taken picutres of the before backyard/garden so you would really see the difference. But please trust me when I tell you it was an ugly MUD HOLE.
I tried planting seed twice, only to have it swept down the two drains we have in our yard. Finally we had sod put down and oh, what an instant change!
Love, love, love going barefoot back there now.
Then when I wanted to plant in the garden area, I found that there were only a few spots I could actually plant anything with so many utility cables going from our yard to the neighbors!
So what to do with the ugly utility boxes and gas meter right in the middle of the garden?
Well, I finally decided to order plant stands and put potted plants on them. It isn’t exactly what I wanted to do, but it looks pretty good, all things considered. And we can see it from our bedroom window. It will make it easier to change plants out for fall and winter and sometimes you just have to make the best of things. It’s not all blooming right yet–we’re waiting for the Azalea in our yard and the four in our neighbors back yard to boom. We know one is white and one is pink and I can’t wait to see what color ours is. Will try to take pictures of all of them in bloom and get them up in a future post.
And here is a picture of the patio for the full effect. And that’s about it for now. But be sure to check back tomorrow when I hope to have some writing news to share!
Until then, Janet
Our kitchen the day we bought the house.
I don’t know where the days are going and I can’t believe it’s been so long since I updated my blog. It’s a wonder anyone follows me at all! I do have an excuse though–my husband and I recently downsized and bought a small condo that we love. But before we moved in, we had the wallpaper replaced with texture and paint and new carpet put down in the bedrooms. After we moved in, we updated our kitchen. The picture below was taking on the day of the inspection. There wasn’t and empty space in the house as they were having a big estate sale. The picture below is after new appliances and counter tops. We liked it before but we love it now!
Next up was the small back yard/garden. I’ll save that for the next post! But it went from a mud hole I didn’t want pictures of, to something we love. I’ll try to do better about posting–I have lots of news to share. So check back soon–and don’t forget to let me know how you like our new kitchen! Until later, Janet
